Cannon

Cannon is feeling much better after his crash on Friday.  He is healing up very nicely and is back to his normal self.  The cuts in his mouth are still pretty soar so he is still eating softer foods.

Last night, Cannon had his 5 year old well check up.  He is healthy and doing great!  He is 42.8 pounds and almost 44 inches tall.

Cannon spent one of his gift cards yesterday from Mindy, Sebastian and Dillon and choose a rescue boat that he has played with non-stop.  He slept with it next to the bed, took it to school this morning to play with and spent a half hour in the bath playing with it tonight.

Tonight, Cannon also got a haircut.

As always, he's pretty darn funny, remembers everything, loves school, is spelling words on his own and is such a caring, wonderful boy!  We sure do love him!

Family

We've enjoyed having Grandpa and Grandma Anderson here for the last four days.  And over the weekend, Auntie Karin and Auntie Kanga came for a visit, too. We had quite a houseful and we loved it!

Colson and Cannon absolutely love having visitors, especially the ones we had.  Colson melted Grandma and Grandpa's heart every time he called Grandpa, "Papa" and when he said "Grandma."  He also said "Auntie" over and over again!  He's actually saying more new words on a daily basis.  We love listening to him.

Cannon loved spending time with both Auntie's and doing some reading and playing with Auntie Karin.  He was so proud to show him how he could ride his bike (before and after his crash!)  Also, Cannon liked going places with Grandpa and cooking with Grandma.

Even though our plans for Cannon's birthday weekend were a bit thrown off after his bike crash, we sure did have a good time hanging out, talking, shopping, watching TV, laughing and being together.  Sunday, we enjoyed a great breakfast out in honor of Cannon's birthday!

We are thankful everyone coming over to help us celebrate Cannon's birthday and also to just hang out.  It's these every day family times that mean so much.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

The night of the crash...Cannon is tired and NOT happy!

Friends, Fun, and Carving!

Pumpkin Carving at Sebastian and Mindy's!

The kids played and laughed and had a blast.
The adults talked and laughed and enjoyed great company.
We all ate and ate and stuffed ourselves with yummy food.
The adults had lots of fun carving pumpkins!

Great way to spend our Sunday afternoon!

A Rainy Saturday

We had a lazy day here today.
Breakfast was more like brunch after we all finally got moving this morning.
We did a lot of resting and relaxing and sitting around.

The girls ventured out to visit some of the shops in downtown Sumner. We all found some small, fun 'finds' and then enjoyed a good lunch at the Buttered Biscuit.  It was nice to get out, take our time and browse.  I haven't been able to do that in a long while.

The boys stayed at home and played and watched TV and played some more.  Colson was wound up most of the day.  He is totally funny and we love watching him play.  He is talking more and more and it's great to be able to have him communicate more with us.

Cannon slept well but still wasn't feeling too great.  His nose looked a bit better but his lips were still pretty swollen.  As the day went on, the swelling went down and he was doing some more talking.  It has been a struggle to eat, however and the poor kid is hungry!  He did get some yogurt and applesauce down and had a milkshake for lunch.  Cannon asked for a peanut butter sandwich but wasn't able to eat it so he scraped all of the jam and peanut butter off with his finger and licked his finger!  After a bath tonight, he looked even better.  I'm sure we will see improvement every day.

Listening to the Huskies now and then off to bed for us!

Enjoying every moment.

Happy 5th Birthday, Cannon!

Cannon is 5!

He is growing up into such a wonderful, smart, young boy.  I can't express how proud we are of him.  He impresses us daily.

These five years with Cannon have been amazing!

This morning Cannon woke up to his room filled with balloons!

Daddy made Cannon a number 5 pancake and we all sang Happy Birthday to him!

Cannon picked out a birthday doughnut for himself this morning and also picked out a pack of doughnuts to share with his friends at school.

He had a fabulous time at his Harvest Celebration at school.

Grandpa and Grandma Anderson took him out to McDonalds for lunch!

He got to show off his awesome bike riding skills to Auntie Karin and Auntie Kanga!

Then....

The cat ran out in front of Cannon's bike...he hit the cat and crashed, face first on the asphalt.

So instead of getting on costumes and celebrating more of his birthday at the Autumn Fest, Cannon spent the evening in the Emergency Room at Good Sam Hospital.  Poor kid.

He has major road rash, cut lips and mouth and a good gash under his nose which they glued together.  He will be terribly sore tomorrow!

Cannon did get to open some presents when we got home from the hospital!

And he got to have some chocolate ice cream, which he requested from the hospital bed.  (Thank you grandpa for running to the store to get it!)

Hopefully, Cannon will sleep well tonight and we'll just keep right on celebrating him tomorrow....and Sunday, too!  He deserves it!  Love this kiddo so very much!

Enjoying every moment.

Years From Now

Years from now, I want to remember the details.
I want Cannon and Colson to be reminded of their everyday lives just as much as the special occasions.

I want the boys to remember what the house looked like when they were small.  I want them to remember the toys they played with.  I want them to look back and remember their first pets.

So here are a few pictures of the everyday.

Just ONE of the many baskets of trucks that the boys play with.

Routines.  Colson loves to brush his teeth!

AC was hanging out with us today.

The best toy ever from Auntie Brenda....the antique Radio Flyer.  The boys have put more laps around the house on this than I can count!

Boots.  I love the little, itty bitty rain boots!  So cute!

Enjoying every moment.

Laughter

When the craziness of work and the to do lists get long, just sitting down on the floor with the kids is the best reminder to what is really important.

It's NOT work.
It's NOT the to do lists.
It's NOT housework.

It's family.
It's being together.
It's laughter.
It's love.

Love these guys so much!
