Happy Easter From Arizona!

We are all so happy to be here in Arizona with Grandma and Grandpa.

We are on vacation!!!
We are in the warm, 80 degree + weather!!!
We are spending time with family we haven't seen since December!!!
We are relaxing, reading, sitting, playing, and having fun!!!

Today we celbrated Easter Sunday here.
Breakfast of homemade pancakes made by Chris.
A great scavenger hunt for Cannon and Colson to find their Easter Baskets.
A wonderful, relaxing afternoon at the pool and relaxing on the back patio.
And a fabulous dinner with Kay and Karen....ham, potato salad, rolls, green beans and asparagus.  So very yummy.

Swimming at the pool.

The boys eating Easter dinner at their own little table.

Playing in the little pool out back...fully clothed.

Eating Peeps!...left at the door by the "Easter Bunny!"

Dying Easter Eggs

We are so very blessed.

Lunch Out, Report Cards, Swimming

Cannon had a big day today!

The one thing he was most looking forward to was lunch with Lea, his first babysitter, and her two boys, Gavin and Jaxon.  (Both of who were in my first grade class!)

Cannon couldn't wait and talked about it all morning.  Lea and the boys picked up Cannon after he got out of school and Cannon got to choose where they were going to go...McDonald's of course!  He had chicken nuggets and also got an ice cream cone!  After they ate, they went back to :Lea's house and the boys played hide and seek, jumped on the trampoline, and enjoyed each others company!  Cannon LOVED every minute of it.  I am so glad he was able to have this time!  Lea was a very special person in Cannon's life for 3 years!

Today was also report card day for every one at Mt. Meadow, including Cannon.  Chris and I are very impressed with Cannon's report card.  He has made many gains academically and is exceeding standards in many areas.  His writing and reading are taking off and we love to see his work come home each week!  We couldn't be prouder of Cannon and he has worked very hard all year long!

Finally, tonight was Cannon's last swimming lesson for this session.  We are so proud of how hard he worked and how much he swam!  Cannon is definitely more confident this time.  He absolutely loved every lesson and had a smile on his face the entire time!  We hope to build on his confidence and encourage him to continue to take lessons and become a better swimmer.

Hello Chris

Yes, most of the blog posts are about the boys.
Every once in awhile I will throw in things about me.
Poor Chris sometimes gets left out!

So this post is for him!

Chris has more projects than I do that he is working on....all at the same time!

Finally finishing the one side of our fence to block the yucky bushes on the other side!

Working on building parts for a Harley he is building for Eastside Harley Davidson.

And of course there are the regular "daddy" jobs.

Teaching Colson how to ride a quad.  (The helmet did get put on when they got going!)

Mowing the lawn...with a little help.

Reading to Cannon before bed.

Thanks, Chris, for all you do!
Love you!

Edible Easter Bunnies

Huge, bunny sugar cookies + lots of frosting + candy decorations = lots and lots of fun (and yummy treats!)

Cannon and Colson had a great time at Dan and Claire's decorating Easter bunny sugar cookies.

As always, the decorating is the most fun.
And so is eating the decorations and licking the frosting during the process!

Thanks for making great memories with the kids!  They were so excited when they got home.

Pioneer Farms Field Trip

Today the 4th graders went to Pioneer Farms as a culmination to our study on The Oregon Trail/Westward Movement.

It was an amazing experience!  The kids were engrossed in hands-on activities all morning long and loved every minute of it.

The weather was chilly but we didn't have rain or wind.

Slowly But Surely

So much to do.
My ADHD self has a hard time sitting and finishing a project.  I am constantly moving from one thing to another without finishing anything.  However, that is sometimes how I work best.

I actually am felling a little bit of accomplishment with all of my half completed projects.

Grading assessments.  They always seem to come at once.

Okay, this one is not really even half complete.
I have over 10 magazines I haven't even opened. Boooo!

Working on Colson's birthday pages for his Birthday Album.

Report cards.  Takes FOREVER!

Project Life.  I moved it downstairs so I could work
on one piece at a time.  LOVE the process and the
outcome so far!

I'm trying to embrace what life is throwing at me right now.
It is what it is!

Enjoying every moment.

Party On!

We continued our celebration of Colson's birthday today.  We had a few family members and neighbors over for a relaxed, easy-going party.

Colson was the star of the party, as he should be.

He was so very cute.
He smiled and laughed and giggled.
He was polite and kind, saying "thank you" to everyone.
He "oohed and aahhed" over everything he opened.
He was genuinely excited and happy!
He played carefully with all of his new toys.
He shared his new things with Cannon.
He blew out his birthday candle.
He dug into part of his cake with his fingers.
He talked and talked and talked.
He had a great time!

We are so blessed to have Colson as part of our family!
