Another Camping Weekend

Our first camping trip to Mayfield Lake this year is under our belts.  We'll be heading back there many more times as the weather continues to get warmer.  This weekend, we enjoyed the weekend with Dan and Claire, MaryAnne, & Dorthy and Dave.  Ricky and Carol came down for the day on Saturday, as did Lee, Kara and Natalie.

We couldn't have asked for better weather.  The sun was shining Friday and Saturday.  Sunday was overcast in the morning, but warm.  We all loved the warm weather!

The boys loved playing in the dirt with their trucks, shovels and buckets.

The water was down more than usual and it was great for hanging out on the rocks.
I sat and watched the boys throw rocks in the water, play, get wet and have fun.

Cannon taught Claire how to make bracelets on the loom...Colson and Natalie
wanted to make some, too!

Such a wonderful weekend away!
Enjoying every moment.

Package Lost....and Found!

The package from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson that we had pretty much written off as lost showed up! It took nine days to get here...we thought it would be only 4 or 5 at the most.  So after a few more days of hoping, we had all thought it was gone for good.

So what a great surprise to open the mailbox and have the package sitting there!

Inside was some special treats for Colson's birthday.  Colson got to have another round of gift opening! How exciting!

Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for sending the gifts and making Colson's day! (Cannon enjoyed them, too!)

Beach Time

The sun was out and shining for us on Friday when we got to the beach.  The boys took advantage of being out doors with lots of room to play and run.  Cannon headed straight for the water.  Colson ran and stopped every ten feet to dig his gloved hands into the sand.  It was wonderful!

Cannon and I took another trip to the beach the next day.  He loved riding his bike down the road and across the sand.  And he really loved playing in the giant sand piles.  He would have stayed there for hours but it was cold and very windy when we went, so I called it quits!

Enjoying every moment!

Colson Is 3!

Happy Birthday to Colson!

Colson has been excited about his birthday for a long time.  He keeps saying he's going to be 6, however. (Which is how old Cannon is.)

For Colson's birthday this year we headed down to Ocean Shores.  We haven't been camping since last October, so we were all ready to head out for a nice weekend.  And this was an especially important and exciting weekend since it would be in honor of Colson!

We left early Friday and were able to enjoy the sun and warm weather on the beach.  The boys ran and played and chased each other.  Cannon got soaking wet feet and Colson was covered in sand.  It was perfect!

Colson's birthday was Saturday and we started the celebration off by going out to breakfast.  The boys both had a huge pancake, bacon and eggs.  They also picked out a doughnut for later.

Colson opened the first of his presents when we got back from breakfast, the ones from Auntie Karin.  We Face Timed with her so she could watch him open the gifts.  He was so nice trying to take off the wrapping paper.  And his facial expressions were hilarious when he saw what was in each package.

Doughnuts were next...with candles for Colson.

After some play time, some rest time, some more play time we headed to town. We let the boys look all over the toy store and dragged them through another store with no toys.  They played hide and seek instead.
We we made it back home, Colson opened a few more gifts from us.

Later on, all went out and had pizza for dinner and when we got back, Colson had the piece of cake he picked out.  This time we Face Timed with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson.  They got to sing and watch Colson blow out the candles.

The smile on Colson's face the entire weekend was priceless.  Love that kid!

It was a fun, family trip away. We loved being together. We especially enjoyed celebrating Colson's 3rd birthday!

Enjoying every moment!

What's New?

Lots going on....
Lots of memories being made...
Lots of things the boys are loving...
Lots of pictures not being taken but that's okay...

We enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day today.  The high was around 64* and the sun felt wonderful!  I think everybody's mood was a bit more chipper.  It's amazing what a little sunshine will do.

Colson has had a pretty bad cough lately and so we kept him home today.  Chris stayed with him this morning and I came home to be with him this afternoon.  Colson laid low for a bit this morning and then played like nothing was wrong.  The cough is nasty, though.  He also has a constant runny nose and I think, a low grade fever off and on.  We'll see if he can kick this soon!

The Leprechaun has visited Cannon's kindergarten classroom.  Everyday he has left surprises...little green feet prints, books hanging in the room, some green cookies...  The kids made Leprechaun traps and are hoping to catch him!

I am busy working on report cards and getting ready for an observation on Friday.  Report cards are going well but they just take forever, especially the comments.  I was able to work on them a bit this afternoon since I was home with Colson.

Chris was able to get his jeep washed and detailed and then washed the motor home tonight.  We are getting ready to go camping this weekend in honor of Colson's birthday!  Can't wait.  We are headed to Ocean Shores Friday afternoon!

I am enjoying watching the start of March Madness and can't wait until the tournament starts.  Love college basketball!

Chris was able to ride his motorcycle around yesterday afternoon and may get a little bit of riding in tomorrow, too.  Another great day is in store for us Thursday.  Then the rain will be back by Friday!

We made mini pizzas on English Muffins for dinner tonight.  Such an easy dinner and both boys love them.  I was going to have tacos but realized I didn't have any shells.  Oh well...the meat is ready for when I make it to the store!

Enjoying every moment.

Sunny to Rainy

We have really been hit by the rain hard!  (As you can see in the 'pool' of water in our backyard.)  However Monday afternoon we had some sun breaks and the boys headed outside as soon as we got home.  Colson stayed in his jammies all day but that didn't stop him from heading outside for a ride!

It wasn't long after that the sky darkened and the rain came down again.  It was a down pour!  Colson had climbed into the bike trailer and was dry (for the most part).  Cannon was out in the rain loving every minute. He was soaked and dumped huge amounts of water from his boots before he came inside!

This is the life with boys!
Enjoying every moment!

Family Day at the Husky Game

We ended up with 4 tickets to the Husky Men's basketball game thanks to The Johnson's from Jet Chevrolet.  We usually are blessed with one set of tickets a year from them and this year, we decided to take the boys!  Normally, we'd get a babysitter and head off for an adult adventure.  But this weekend we made it a family day.

They both had fun at the game, but did get a bit board.  Cannon brought his Leapster and played that for quite awhile.  Colson ate popcorn and licorice all game long.  :)

The big event of the day was when the boys got to see the Harry the Husky, the official mascot in costume. Colson was watching him all game long and called him, "Tail."  Anyway, towards the end of the game, the boys got to say hi, give some high fives and I got a few pictures!

It was senior day, the last home game of the season.  And the team won against USC 82-75.

The enjoyed the ride through Seattle as much as the game!  Seeing the water, the buildings, the cranes, the big rigs, etc. was very excited for them, especially Colson.

Enjoying every moment.

Soccer Time

The beginning of March brought on another activity for Cannon.  He started in a soccer league through through the school district.  This is same league he played in earlier this school year.  We love that Cannon wants to play and it's great for him to learn a new sport, learn about teamwork and get in some great exercise.

Mike Tessem is the coach this time and he has a lot of experience coaching kids.  Cannon is learning a lot. The most important rule is that they are having fun and it sure looks like it!  They have four practices and then play games, however no one keeps score.

Looking forward to a great season!

$5 + $5 = New Truck

Cannon and Colson each got $5 from Granny Joy for Valentine's Day.  Last week they finally got to spend their money.  We went to Target and they search every isle...twice.  They looked at every toy that was 'cool' and pushed every button they could.  Many of the toys they wanted were more than $5, but it was a great lesson in reading the price of each toy and deciding if it was more or less than they had to spend.

Finally, the boys decided to put their money together and buy a truck and trailer.  I thought they would fight over it when they got home, but I stressed how important it was to share since they paid for it together with their own money.  And, knock on wood, they have done a nice job playing together!

Thanks, Granny Joy!

Trial and Error

Cannon and Colson played outside for quite awhile this afternoon, even with the cooler temperatures.  They played with the neighbor's grandchildren and rode bikes for over an hour.

Later, Cannon was set on riding his skateboard, which he has only tried to do once before.  So he got on all of his safety gear and headed out.  He was crying within 30 seconds of leaving the house.  Mr. Perfectionist is very hard on himself when things don't come easily to him.  But with some encouragement, Cannon kept at it and learned how to balance and push himself along.  We'll have to keep practicing!

I'm happy for the play time outside and I'm happy that Cannon tried something new, even though it was hard!

Enjoying every moment.

Adios Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons have come to a conclusion....at least for now.  Both boys made huge gains and built confidence.  These were the first lessons Colson has taken.  He loved them and the next time we sign him up, he'll be able to take lessons without a parent in the water with him.  Cannon has become a fish...swimming very well and improving his streamline and crawl stroke.  It's been great to watch both of them!

They will be putting their new skills to use when we head to Arizona for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson.  I'm sure the boys will be in the pool every single day!

The kids in Cannon's swim group got to jump off the side on the final day.

I didn't get any good pictures of Colson....I tried but, oh well!

Enjoying every moment.
