Last Minute Ride

Monday after dinner Chris sent the boys over to Dan and Claire's to play while we went for a quick motorcycle ride.

I was grateful to get away, just Chris and I.  Grateful to Chris for making it happen.  Grateful for neighbors who are there to take our kids at the last minute. Grateful for an absolutely beautiful evening.  Grateful for an ice cream sundae that tasted very good.

So blessed.

Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.

Today was a beautiful Saturday!  I wish I could say that we spent more time outside than we did.  The weather report said rain all day.  So we'll chock it up to a wonderful surprise!  I did get out and weed a little bit.  Chris was able to ride his motorcycle for a couple of hours.  The boys spent a short time outside playing.

The best part about the day for the boys was attending a birthday party for Mandy Green's youngest daughter, Emrie.  It was at the Bouce House in Enumclaw.  Cannon and Colson LOVED every minute of it and were instantly sweaty.  They bounced and ran and jumped and played and laughed and bounced some more!  They finished the party off with a yummy chocolate cupcake and ice cream.  What more could they want!?

It was great fun!  They were both exhausted and were in bed by 7:30 pm!

Enjoying every moment.

A Few Miscellaneous Photos

This evening I was going through photos trying to catch up on Project Life and found some cute ones that I didn't end up using.  Here are a few:

A little blurry, but still cute.  I snapped this at a stop light on the way to school to send to Chris when he was out of town.

Another sweet one of Cannon mixing up muffin mix.  He does LOVE to help and enjoys cooking.

One Saturday I came out to find DC sleeping on my car.  I had arrived home not too long before this, so it must have been warm!

Colson asked to ride his red quad again.  He was apprehensive and it took a bit of practice, but he was eventually riding it around the yard on his own.

I snapped this cute picture of Colson on Easter morning. Love.

Happy Easter!

Easter Day.
The boys were up early.....even Cannon who was excited for the Easter Bunny.  They checked out their baskets but didn't touch anything in them until I came downstairs.  They were both playing quietly in the living room when I got up.  (hooray!)

The boys both had Easter egg hunts at church and came home with a bag of treasures!  The day was beautiful so Chris hid eggs all over the backyard and Cannon and Colson had their own little egg hunt, filling up their baskets with eggs full of candy and money.  Watching them hunt for eggs made me smile.  They each ate a few pieces of candy and then brought their toys out to the back deck and played in the sun.

We are beyond blessed.

Easter Packages

Yesterday the boys got to open two Easter packages that came in the mail.  One was from Auntie Karin and the other was from Auntie Kanga.

They couldn't wait to open them!  Cannon and Colson climbed up into chairs next to each other.  Cannon let Colson open the package from Auntie Kanga.  Cannon opened the package from Auntie Karin. As they pulled things out, they each ooohed and aahed over the toys and candy!

They had their stash in front of them and sat there eating and playing for quite some time.

Thank you Aunties for the wonderful surprises!  We love you!

Easter egg dying.
Cool creations.
Lots of colored fingers.
Fun times.
Perfect Saturday.

It was great to watch the boys dye Easter eggs today.  I loved how excited they were.  (me too!)

We ended up with a dozen perfectly colored eggs!

Hello Doctor

Colson had a follow up appointment this morning for the discoloring and lump on his knee.  We had to drive to Bellevue and spent the entire morning there.  The lump seemed to feel different....not as hard and more squishy.  The doctors were still stumped as to what it was, so they scheduled an ultrasound, which is why we were there for 2 1/2 hours....waiting for that appointment.

The great thing was that there was a play area and Colson had a great time playing with trains and then painting.

The ultrasound did show enough clues to help the doctors decide that it was nothing except 'vein malformation'.  The good news is that if it's not bothering Colson and we aren't concerned, then we will just watch and monitor over time.  (which is what we decided)  Yeah for that!

I enjoyed the day with Colson. We had fun together and it's nice to have some one on one time with him!

Funny Faces

We welcomed  home Chris from his business trip to Oregon and the boys were on a high.  They found the drawer of props and put on quite a show for us.  We laughed pretty hard!

Silly boys!

Another Soccer Season Under Our Belts

Cannon finished up his soccer season Wednesday night with their last game.  He sure has improved from the first season!  And his growth this season, from the first practice to the last game, has been tremendous.  He is a lot more aggressive and understands the game so much more.  We are thankful for his dedication, as well as a great coach this season!

Cannon loves to steal the ball from other players, plays great defense, likes to play goalie, and even scored a goal tonight!

We are very proud of Cannon!

Enjoying the Sunny Weekend

We sure did enjoy the sunny weekend.  I wish every day would be sunny and 70 degrees!  It sure makes a difference!

This weekend the boys had a ton of fun playing in the sandbox at Greg and Brenda's house.  They loved the new lowboy truck.  Colson calls it the 'little boy!'  They spent hours this weekend scooping dirt, hauling trucks, just playing.  Sand was everywhere!

Cannon and Colson also helped Chris paint a wall in the garage.  The goal was to get two of the eight shelves up that are sitting in the garage.  That didn't happen.  The primer is up but the paint is still in the cans. Too many projects going on at the same time.  Not enough hours in the day.

The boys loved playing outside today.  They both took off their clothes, hooked up the sprinkler and ran through it!  I sat on the back deck in the sun and watched them.  It was wonderful and I could have stayed there all day!

We made a couple of runs today to do errands...not planned.  The last time I went out was to return a pair of shoes for Cannon that were too small and hopefully find a pair that was bigger.  Colson wanted to come with me and insisted on wearing his pajamas.  He had them on since he just woke up from his nap.  So off we went to the shoe store, Colson sporting his doggie jammies and flip flops!

Let's Ride

This afternoon Chris and I took off for a few hours by ourselves.  The sun was out and we took advantage of the warm(ish) weather and went for a motorcycle ride.

We took the long way to Tacoma, down Ruston Way en route to Anthony's for an early dinner.  I had the salmon which was amazing.  Chris had a nice, juicy steak and fries.  The view was great of the Puget Sound and Vashon ferry.  We loved being together, just the two of us.

After dinner, we headed across the Narrows bridge to Gig Harbor.  We took a nice ride around the harbor and ended up back at Kelly's for ice cream.  We also walked down to the city dock to look at the boats and see the view.  I love old town Gig Harbor.

Before heading home, we took a ride over to Fox Island and around the vicinity.  It was the first time Chris and I have been over the bridge to Fox Island...we've driven under it in the boat many, many times...but never over it!  There are many beautiful homes along the water.

It was a great ride and great evening.  It was nice to get away for a few hours.  We're ready for our next ride!

Enjoying every moment!

Colson and Mommy

Colson is (and has been) in that "Mama's Boy" stage.  I remember Cannon being like that, too.  Colson is for sure a very different child than Cannon, however.  :)

He is strong willed.
He wants to get his way.
He doesn't accept discipline well.
He wants our attention and will try and get it...positively or negatively.
He has a love-hate relationship with his brother.
He whines a lot.
He cries when things don't go his way.

But for the most part....

He is very funny.
He loves to snuggle.
He is excellent at puzzles.
He loves to read.
He remembers everything.
He has a huge vocabulary.
He (usually) is polite and says please and thank you.
He sleeps great.
He is very independent.
He is a great helper.
He can be so extremely sweet and kind.

Love. This. Boy.

More From Arizona

We had a wonderful 7 days in Arizona.

The weather was great and much needed after a long, cold and rainy winter.  It was wonderful to see the sun, enjoy the beauty of the blue skies, and feel the warmth of 80 degree weather.

We did a lot of sitting outside, reading, going to the pool and relaxing.  I finished four books, spent a huge amount of time on Pinterest and loved reading my magazines.  Chris did a lot of magazine reading and just relaxing.  The boys played and played.  They loved being on vacation!

Best of all, we got to spend time with family. It was wonderful to have a whole week with my parents and my sister where we didn't have an agenda.  We did do a few things that we had scheduled, but for the most part, we figured things out each day.  We just let everything unfold as the day went on.  It was great.

We needed another seven days!
