Being Silly

Being silly is easy to do.
It happens a lot at our house.

Last night it was Cannon who I caught on camera.
Here are a few photos I was able to snap that actually weren't blurry!

We love being silly!
Enjoying every moment.

Weekend

Last weekend I said this, but it's worth repeating....
Thank goodness for weekends!

I felt good about what I accomplished.  I worked on report cards.  I did a bit of scrap booking.  I picked up and cleaned some.  I made a new soup recipe that acually turned out pretty good.  (Hooray for the crock pot.)  I went grocery shopping.  I did laundry.  The list goes on!

Cannon spent most of the weekend with Granny Joy.  He stayed at her place Friday and Saturday night.  They drove down to Portland Saturday morning to attend Cooper and Andee's birthday party.  Cannon had a great time playing with everyone.  He was well behaved, kind and polite.  And he was tuckered out!

Chris spent Saturday up with Sebastian at Lynnwood Harley Davidson, Sebastian's new store.  Chris went for a visit, to support Sebastian and to eat some good food!  However, he also came home with a bike.  That is all I will comment on the topic!  :)  Not very happy about that.

Sunday, Cannon, Joy and I went to see the play, Annie, which was presented by the Bonney Lake High School Drama Department.  Cannon's preschool teacher's daughter played Annie!  She did a fabulous job and the entire production was great.  Cannon enjoyed it for the most part.  It was a bit long for him.  I'm glad we went. It was a good experience for him.  He got to see Ms. Teresa a number of times and also a number of other teachers from school, too.

All three of the boys got haircuts this evening.  Colson was fabulous.  This was he second haircut but the first time Chris used the clippers.  Colson wasn't scared at all.  He sat very well and stayed mostly still.  He never tried to get up and move (thanks to a sucker!) but he moved his head a lot.

Waiting for the play to start.

Sunny...for One Day

Thursday the blue skies and bright sun came out to play.  We haven't had a 60 degree day in a long while.  It was sure a nice treat to feel the warmth of the sun and not have to wear a coat!  As soon as we got home from school, we headed straight to the back yard for some much needed Vitamin D.

Colson enjoyed playing with the rocks!  He made piles on the deck, then threw them off one by one!
Cannon ran around the yard, kicked his soccer ball, road around on the little Radio Flyer and played on the big toy.  I had fun swinging with him, too!

Enjoying every moment.

Spring Conference Time!

It's that time of year again!  A time when I am at my busiest: Assessing even more than normal, sorting through data, entering data, filling out report cards, writing specific and meaningful comments, setting up conferences, etc.

This year, I am adding a First Birthday party to organize (Colson's!)

It's also the time of year that I meet with Cannon's teacher, Ms. Teresa to go over his progress.  I was excited to hear what she had to say and I like being on the parent side of the conference!

Cannon is doing fabulous and enjoys preschool.  He is a wonderful peer model for the special education preschool program and is friends with everyone.  He is patient and kind.  One thing Ms. Teresa suggested he work on is to better receive constructive criticism.  Cannon still gets embarrassed easily when he does something wrong.  However he has improved immensely from the beginning of the year.

Academically, I have really seen Cannon flourish this trimester.  His report card shows that as well.  He received all 3's (meeting age expectations) and some 4's (exceeding age expectations).  The 4's were mostly in the area of math and letters & sounds.

We are very proud of Cannon and his progress!

Now, down to business for me.  Time to start working on report cards for my students!

Enjoying every moment.

The Boys Right Now

Cannon loves preschool and can't wait to go each day.  Today I was able to sneak in for a few minutes and watch him during circle time and the start of choice time.  I loved to see what a good listener he was and how quietly he raised his hand.  I also enjoyed watching the pretend play.

Cannon loves broccoli and eats it every day.  It's his favorite vegetable.

Cannon is very witty and has a dry sense of humor!

Cannon has really been starting to do more reading lately and picking up on sounds and spellings.  He wants to know where I am on the page when I read to him and is trying to sound out words.  I am noticing the amount of words he does recognize is growing.  It's an exciting time!

Colson is a fabulous eater and clears his plate at every meal.  He loves almost everything we put in front of him.  We've been giving him Almond Milk and he is liking that a lot.  He's just about kicked the bottle, too.  I don't think we'll have a problem when we do stop it all together.

Colson is showing his 'strong' side and is making his feelings known when he doesn't get his way.  A loud scream is usually what we get and sometimes a little fit.

Colson is exploring with more toys around the house and really is seeing the cause and effect of things. He likes to push buttons and notices what happens when he does.  He likes to turn the volume nob on the stereo and see that the sound gets louder.  He likes to flip light switches.

Colson loves dancing still and moves to the beat where ever he is when he hears a song.  He'll dance in my arms.  He'll dance in his high chair.  He'll dance while he is sitting on the floor.  He'll dance while he is standing.

We so love these two boys!  They are the light of our lives.

Enjoying every moment.

Thankful for the Weekend

The weekend...
A time to catch up.
A time to relax.
A time to enjoy.
A time to clean.
A time to be with family.
A time to shop.
A time to think.
A time to organize.
A time to record memories.
A time to rejuvenate.

We had a good weekend doing all of the above!

All I can say is thank goodness for weekends!

Cannon's "Crash"

Last weekend, Cannon 'fell' into the side of his bed frame and got about a 1 inch cut above his lip and below his nose.  He was in his room to rest.  When he turned out the light he was going to flop on his bed.  He thought he was closer to the bed than he really was and ended up flopping his face right onto the edge of the wood bed frame.

Cannon did cry but it wasn't a blood curdling scream.  Both Chris and I heard the thump and came to see what had happened.  He bled for quite awhile and my first thought was that he would need stitches.  But Chris got a closer look and the cut wasn't too deep. So he ended up with a nasty looking cut and a huge fat lip!  He spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch with an ice pack on his face.

Now, almost a week later, he is looking much better and the cut is healing nicely.  I think he'll have a small scar, but hopefully not one that is too noticeable.

Fat lip!

Nice cut!  The day it happened.
The next day.

About 2 days after.
This is one post that I hate to say, "Enjoying every moment."  However, this is life. This is our life and even though I hate to see my son hurt, I enjoyed making him feel better.  So.....

Enjoying every moment. (even this one!)
