Our Boys

Do you know that love that is so deep it hurts?

That's the way we feel about Cannon and Colson.

These two are amazing.
They make life interesting.
They challenge us.
They teach us.
They learn.
They amaze us daily.
They love us.

Enjoying every moment.

Party Time!

Today was Cannon's birthday party!  He was so excited and couldn't wait for it to start.

He invited his friends from school, plus Dillon, Evan and Alex.  We rented Jumpin' Jack and Jill in Sumner and the kids jumped until they were red in the face!  They all had so much fun!  It was great to watch them interact, laugh and play.  I loved every minute of it.

We took a short break in the middle for cake and then another short break so Cannon could open presents. All of the kiddos loved the cake and 'oohed' over the presents.  But really, all they wanted to do was to jump and play!  And I am glad they got the chance to!

The party was perfect.  Cannon had fun and smiled the whole time.  His friends had fun, too!

Enjoying every moment.

Today

Today is election day.
Today we had pancakes for breakfast.
Today Colson woke up not feeling so great.
Today Cannon and I enjoyed our time together at school before he had to go to his class and before my kids came.
Today Colson and Cannon went to Jacie's house.
Today I had a meeting after school focusing on Smartboards.
Today it rained like crazy in the late afternoon and evening.
Today Cannon played with his remote control car.
Today Colson went to bed early.
Today Chris and I sat in the bathroom as Cannon took a bath.
Today we watched the election results as they unfolded throughout the evening.
Today we had fun watching the cats play.
Today I worked on some report cards.
Today I don't have to make lunches because we don't have school tomorrow.
Today we are thankful for each other.

Enjoying every moment.

Through Cannon's Eyes

I gave Cannon my camera yesterday and these are the pictures he took:

(My phone camera isn't taking the best shots anymore :( so some turned out blurry.)

A toy fire truck. (I don't even recognize it!)

Part of DC getting a drink.

A blurry shot of his nature artwork that he did with Claire at the end of the summer.

A shot of his remote control car without the body on it.

Another remote control car in his bedroom.

Enjoying every moment!

Hello Sunday

Hello Sunday.

Love the weekends and I still continue to wish that every weekend was a three-day weekend!  I would love that!

We all accomplished a lot this weekend:

Chris put the jet boat motor back together.
He put the motor back into the boat and it's ready to go.
The boys played and played and made mess after mess.
I cooked and cleaned.
I shopped.
We went out for a pancake breakfast to support a local dance club.
Chris painted the upstairs bathroom.
I started report cards.
Cannon wrote his numbers and practiced his reading.
Colson continues to surprise us with all of his new vocabulary words.
I ordered pictures and finished a layout.
Cannon and I ordered his cake for his party on Wednesday.
Colson and I ran some errands.
Cannon and I went to church.

The list goes on.

Here are a few miscellaneous photos....

Cannon working on his numbers, letters, a drawing and some words!  He sounded out Happy Birthday all by himself.  The picture he drew is of him with the birthday crown on.

Cannon taking communion at church this morning.

Sweet Colson!

The boys found a whoopee cushion and had a lot of laughs together with it.  Here, Colson is taking a turn sitting on it.

Toys everywhere today.  The living room looked like a parking lot for trucks and trailers.

Cannon put the cat house next to him on the floor.  DC and Cannon both snuggled up for a rest.

Enjoying every moment.

Colson

Every day Colson surprises us with things he says or things he does...or both!  The learning of a toddler happens at such a rapid pace it's almost unbelievable.  At times, I have to remind myself that Colson DOES understand what I'm saying.

New words come out of Colson daily and he is starting to say two word sentences.  He's getting very good at saying please and thank you.  So cute and really important!

Colson is getting his molars in and has his hands in his mouth quite a bit.  He doesn't seem too fussy, but I know cutting teeth can't be too comfortable.

This kid loves, loves, loves his brother and will often imitate what Cannon does.  He loves trucks and trailers just as much as Cannon.  The boys are very similar in that way.

Colson learning to drink from a cup, with a watchful eye from me.
He is learning unscrew the lids off of things and put them back on.
He is learning to put his shoes on by himself.
We are working on the beginning stages of potty training....nothing major yet.

Enjoying every moment.
