Last Day of School

We have come upon another last day of school!

This year, Cannon finished his year in kindergarten.  I finished my second year teaching 4th grade.

No matter what year it is or what grade we're in...the last day of school is always exciting!

Cannon's Last Day...

Cards

Lately we've been playing a lot of cards.  Well, Cannon and I or Cannon and Chris.  Colson doesn't really have the patience to sit and play.  :)

Cannon loves UNO and Chris taught him how to play Crazy Eight's.  We've also played WAR and Addition WAR.  We are enjoying a bit of competition, but more importantly, we are practicing how to lose graciously.

Always learning.
Fun times.
Good memories!

Enjoying every moment.

Pictures on Sunny Days

Sunny days are the best.
Sunny days "make" me sit outside and relax.
Sunny days are for swinging.
Sunny days mean BBQ for dinner.
Sunny days are for hitting the baseball.
Sunny days encourage us to pull weeds.
Sunny days make us smile!

This isn't a great picture but Colson and I found a ladybug on the deck.  It didn't have any spots at all.  It was fun to watch it crawl all over the place.

Shirt, socks, shoes.  No pants.  That's how he rolls.

Sunny days are perfect for shadow pictures!  Love these two boys!

Enjoying every moment!

Father's Day @ School

Friday was the Father's Day Celebration at school for all of the primary grades.

Cannon's class had their celebration at the end of the day.  I peeked in and the room was packed with dads! The kids sang songs and presented their dads with a few different gifts.

There was a nice, laminated poem with Cannon's footprint.

A picture with some "facts" about Chris.  Cannon was right on with his answers.  He knows his dad well!

And a wonderfully decorated envelope with a key chain inside. We love his drawing on the envelope of the boat!

Enjoying every moment.

Selfies

"Selfies" are the thing this year and there is even a song about it!

So I played the song and let the students in my class take selfies with my camera.

Lots of laughs!

Enjoying every moment.

Happiness Is Playing Outside

Outside is the best place to be when you are a kid on a nice day.  These two boys of ours love to be outside.  They can take any little thing and turn it into hours of fun. I love that they are independent.  I love how they are creative and imaginative.  I enjoy listening to them talk as they play...you really hear all that is going on in those minds of theirs.

Simple things = Loads of fun and many memories.

I love being fully present and in the moment for these simple things.
I love watching the happiness that abounds from Cannon and Colson.

Enjoying every moment.

Memories Captured

May has come and gone and we are welcoming in June!  Here are a few photos from the month of May that show great, simple memories from our lives.

This is Cannon's spot.  He likes to lay on the couch, usually with the blanket over him.

Garage "fix up" is coming along.  Chris has painted about half of the walls and ceiling.  He can only do a little at a time because there is SO MUCH stuff in there to go through!  Fresh paint and some new to us shelves are making it look better.  Doors still need to be painted as well as the floor.

Cannon's first loose tooth.  The adult tooth is coming in behind it.  He's been wiggling it, but it's still hanging on!

For their unit on Community Helpers, Cannon's class is having guest speakers come in to talk about their jobs.  On this day, a mom who works at the distribution center for Safeway came in to share about her job.  The kids each received their own shopping bag and got to "shop" for some goodies!

Oh my...I came into Cannon's room and found this.  He's been talking about fixing his bookshelf. That's one way to do it.

Colson took out all of the baskets under the TV stand and used the space for a hiding place!

Cannon loves to build with the cubes in my classroom.  He often makes huge creations and wanted me to take a picture of this one before he had to take it apart and go to class!

My students playing the game, "Muggins."  They roll three dice then add, subtract, multiply and/or divide to get a number.  Their marble goes on that number.  There is a lot of strategy that goes into the game and you can bluff, which is a favorite thing to do!  The goal is to get as many marbles in a row as possible.

Lots of every day life things. Very simple.  Sometimes easy to overlook.  But I try not to because they make lots of memories.

Enjoying every moment.
