Here's a bit about what's happening in our lives lately...
1. Colson has been waking up anywhere from 6:00-6:20 am. So he's been hanging out with me in the morning as I get ready. He sometimes likes to sit with me as I put on my makeup. Other times, he'll play with his trucks and trailers. This morning, he build large buildings out of blocks to make a city.
2. Cannon's class earned 25 points for good behavior so they had a pajama day to celebrate. It was also silly sock day (for 's' week). So yesterday Cannon wore his pajamas to school with silly socks over the top of them. He looked pretty silly! But he was comfy and enjoyed the day of learning in his pajamas!
3. We got new counter tops today. They look really good and it was nice to say goodbye to the cheap laminate that was there. The back splash still needs to go up and that will really finish things off nicely.
4. Colson loves going to Jessica's and playing with Matthew, the other boy she watches. Cannon loves Matthew and they get along so well. I'm happy that Colson is learning to share with someone else, and be kind, patient & caring.
5. It is the start of many long meetings for me. Monday I was at school until 7:30. Tuesday, we had a long staff meeting after school. Every Wednesday is a planning meeting with my team. I also started the morning with a meeting, too. I have extra long staff meetings coming up next week, plus an RTI meeting the following week. Too. Many. Meetings.
6. The weather has been crazy around here. We had two days of torrential rain, thunder and lightening. Then today the sun was out and it was a beautiful fall day. Tomorrow, they are calling for rain again. Oh, the Pacific Northwest!
Enjoying every moment!

Pumpkin Patch Time
The entire weekend was absolutely beautiful. We just love these sunny, fall days and you can't help but smile and be happy!
Sunday it was too nice NOT to get out to the Pumpkin Patch. We are lucky to have a number right near us and we headed to the closest, Spooner Farms. I love seeing the rows and rows of pumpkins as well as the huge bins of gourds.
We walked around and saw about everything. The pumpkin slingshots, the big spiders made out of hay bales, the animals, the giant pumpkins, the "Pumpkin Speedway", the duck races, the corn maze, etc. The boys ran around and had a great time. We celebrated the trip with a caramel apple that we all shared. (so yummy!)
Love these days! I wish I could just bottle them up and save them for the rainy winter months.

Family
We enjoyed some extended family time this weekend.
Mom, Aunt Karen and Aunt Vicki spent last week in Branson, Missouri on a cousins vacation. The three of them flew back to Seattle Friday night and stayed at our house before heading for home Saturday. We enjoyed seeing them, hearing about their trip and catching up. Before they left Saturday morning, mom treated us to breakfast and we had a quick shopping trip through one store in Sumner! Cannon and Colson loved showing off all that they are. It was definitely a quick trip but a good one.
Saturday was also Granny Joy's birthday. We headed out to Retta and Chris' house for a birthday celebration. Joy didn't know LaRae and Stacie were coming or that we were coming, either. So that was a great surprise for her. The day was beautiful...sunny and warm. We spent a couple of hours visiting, eating cake and ice cream and watching the kids play. I'm glad we were able to make it out there.

Happy Weekend
Weekends are wonderful. Days to catch up. Relax. Accomplish things. Sleep in. Be together. Do errands. Sit. Watch TV. Play. Play some more.
That's what we did this weekend. It was a busy one, but it was a good one.
Saturday, Chris spent the day up in Lynnwood at Sebastian's store. He is working on building a stage for live music. Chris forgot to take pictures. Next time. I'm curious to see what it looks like.
Cannon had two birthday parties to attend. The first was at Jumpin' Jack and Jill in Sumner. Colson came also and they both played and played until they were red in the face and sweaty. Cannon especially! Thank you for a fun party Amelia! Both boys took naps when we got home and I had to wake them to go to the next party. This one was for Brayden and it was at the movie theater. They had fun making paper bag puppets, eating pizza and then ice cream! Colson and I went home after Brayden opened presents and Cannon stayed to go to the movies with the rest of the kids. They saw, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs II. I didn't pick him up until 9pm and he was TIRED!
Sunday, the boys and I went to church in the morning. Then they played when we got home and made a total mess of the living room. We watched the first part of the Seahawks and then decided to head to the movies, just Chris and I. We were glad Tailia could come over and hang out with the boys. We saw The Family with Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer. It was good...not great, but worth getting out by ourselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
We enjoyed the rest of the evening together, watching the recording of the second half of the Seahawk game. They came back from 20-3 to win 23-20! What a great end to the game! I had made lentil soup in the crockpot and we had a yummy dinner.
Basically, we loved being home together, not having an agenda. It was a good weekend.

Yahoo! New Pictures!
I picked up my disc of pictures today from our end of August family photoshoot. I've said this before and it's still true...I just love looking at brand new pictures from a professional shoot.
Thanks to my friend and fellow teacher for taking the time out to take our pictures!
Enjoying every moment.

Fidalgo Bay
We spent last weekend up in Anacortes. We camped at a great spot and our sites were right on the water. We loved the view and the access to the beach. Cannon got soaked...fully clothed! We found rocks to throw and shells to collect and crabs to look at. There was plenty of room for riding bikes and there was also a paved trail that we walked and rode along. The playground was right across from us, too.
We've already made reservations for the same time next year. Looking forward to it!
