Playing at the Property

A few hours at the property on a beautiful sunny day was just what we needed!  The boys rode a little bit on the quad and Cannon rode his motorcycle.  Chris tried to fill up a couple holes but the dirt was still frozen solid!  (We didn't have any snow at home, and hadn't for a long time!)  But the boys had fun playing and hunting for cool sticks and rocks.  Harley played hard and ran around everywhere. Chris cut some rounds for me...a decoration for an upcoming bridal shower.

What a great day to be outside and enjoying the fresh air!

Family Day in Seattle

New Year's Day we enjoyed the day together in Seattle.  It was a nice day, but cold!  We were all bundled up!  Still, being down by the water is so pretty.

Our first stop was to the new Wings Over Washington ride.  It's a state of the art flying theater that takes you on a ride over Washington.  It was pretty amazing.   We wish it would have lasted a bit longer, but totally worth it.  :)

Then we hit the Big Wheel.  Colson and I had ridden on it before, but Cannon and Chris hadn't.  The ride offers amazing views and it really is a MUST DO at least once.  Cannon was a little bit freaked out.  He was not happy about being so high up over the water.

We stopped for lunch at Red Robin on the water and filled our bellies.  Then we walked up to the market.  It was New Years Day, so about half of the vendors were closed, however it was nice to walk through the market without it being so crowded.

After we walked the market, we went up the hill a few blocks to the Sheridan Hotel, which hosts the Gingerbread houses.  The creations this year were all Harry Potter themed and absolutely amazing. The detail in these is indescribable.

Finally, we walked back down through the market and stopped at the bakery for some yummy treats. These sustained us on our walk back to the car.

It sure was a great day!

Merry Christmas

Hooray for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
It means we get to be together with family.
It means we get to eat WAY too much food.
It means we get to play silly games.
It means we laugh and laugh and laugh.
It means we are making memories.

I love it all.

The spoon hangers!  So awesome that the boys can do it, too!  #proudmom

Silly game:  Open the package with gloves on!  Cannon ended up winning.  It was a box of chocolates, which was perfect to share with everyone!

Hello Christmas morning!  Such a beautiful sight.  The lighted tree while everything else it dark.

These boys are waiting patiently to open their gifts!

Stockings first.

This year the boys did all of the handing out of gifts.  They red the tags, passed out gifts to everyone and then opened their own, too!

Go Zags!  Thanks Auntie Kanga for the shirts!

Both boys received Legos for Christmas, which they love. They began building as soon as they could!  Cannon is working on a car that had 99 steps to put together!

Christmas dinner is always at Kay and Karen's.  We had prime rib and lots of other good sides to go with it.  We always eat so much that we don't even want dessert...but still eat it anyway!

Christmas night game:  A Christmas drawing, but with a twist.  Drawing with the plate on your head and no peeking!

Chris' drawing is with the green crayon and mine is the red crayon!

And a quick family picture for good measure!

Enjoying every moment.
