Husky Basketball

Karin, Colson and I headed to the UW Campus to watch the Apple Cup of women's basketball.  We love riding the Link....it's so easy and allows us to surpass yucky Seattle traffic.  It was kids day, so Colson received a gift box full of carnival items and free cotton candy.  There were some more free things for him to do, but he passed.  We enjoyed walking around the area and ate some high priced food! It wasn't very crowded and they invited all of the fans to fill the student section...we headed right down to the floor seats and watched the game from there.  Amazing seats!  Such a fun time and we enjoyed doing things we don't do all that often.

Colson was playing with his carnival items on the train ride home.  Hilarious!

Enjoying every moment.

Christmas

A few photos from Christmas.

This one is actually from Christmas Eve.

Cannon and Colson were the first ones up.  I told them they couldn't come out of their room until 7am.  I heard them talking before that, but they kept their word and didn't go downstairs until 7.

Colson handed out all of the stockings to everyone.

Opening their gifts from Santa.

Colson gave us this gift that he made at school.  I love it!  I have one from Cannon as well when he was in second grade.

This is my favorite gift.  Karin gave me a bag where she stitched the boys hand prints on them out of felt.  I love it and I've used it already!

They are always excited to receive gifts where they get to build and create!

We took a nice, long walk around the golf course after opening gifts.  Actually, Cannon rode his bike.  It was such a beautiful day!

The boys got dominoes from Auntie and they spent a couple of hours putting together a long domino train.

I love these two!  They are getting so big!

Putting together a lego set.  This kept him busy and happy!

We had ham for Christmas dinner.  It was yummy!

More building after dinner!

Enjoying every moment!

Downtime

Oh, the holiday season.  How I love you so.
I love the two weeks off from work that I so desperately need.
I love that the kids are so excited for Christmas (and time off from school!)
I love the decorations.
I love that we travel to Spokane.
I love the prospect of snow!

This year we have 5 days at the Lake for the Christmas holiday.  We left Friday about noon and arrived about 4:30.  It was nice to be there before dark, have time to settle in, sit and relax, eat dinner, watch TV.

We only had one day in town and spent the rest of the days hanging out.
We read.
We put together two 500 piece puzzles.
We watched Mary Poppins.
We watched sports.
We baked.
We decorated.
We ate.
We went for walks.
We made Popsicle sleds.
We played checkers.

It was all so wonderful and exactly what we needed.

Enjoying every moment.

Enchant

Enchant is new to Seattle.  It's the largest Christmas light display, with millions of dazzling lights that are truly amazing.

Enchant is located at Safeco Field.  We took the Light Rail down to the stadium.  It was a cold walk because of the chilling wind!  But we did make it!

We headed right into the maze to search for the 9 reindeer.

It really was fabulous to wander through.  Colson was excited to find the reindeer and we did a good job finding eight...but it took us awhile to find the last one!  We finally found Cupid and then headed up to eat dinner, grab hot chocolate and get a picture with Santa.

It was another nice evening out as a family, making new memories.

Enjoying every moment.

Singing Christmas Tree

We have been really busy this last year with school and building the shop, and tend to choose staying home over getting out and doing things.  That isn't always bad and we love our time together at home!  However this season, I bought tickets to a few different events and the Singing Christmas Tree was one.  Chris and I went years and years ago, before kids.  This time we went back with Cannon and Colson.

The show was great, a wonderful story of the true meaning of the season, with "toys" from the toy store coming to life.  The play was great, lots of good singing and some funny parts, too!

I'm glad we went, enjoyed our time together and made some memories doing something new.

Enjoying every moment!
