Hello Sickness

Colds have taken over our household these past couple of days.  Fortunately, I only have a head cold, don't feel too terribly bad, and can function normally!  Thank goodness because the rest of the household needs a bit of TLC.

Chris also has a head cold, but his seems to be way worse compared to mine.  He hasn't been able to sleep well and is pretty miserable during the day, too.

Colson has a pretty nasty cough and a runny nose.  But otherwise, seems to be fine.  He is happy for the most part and I just pray that he doesn't get any worse.

Cannon has a nasty cough and started running a high fever Tuesday afternoon. He's felt pretty miserable for the last two days and has stayed home from school.  We haven't been able to get his fever to break so tonight we finally took him in to see the doctor. He tested positive for RSV, which is a respiratory virus.  It's very contagious and Colson probably has it, too.  They gave Cannon 4 puffs on an inhaler and that made a huge difference.  We'll continue with the inhaler three more times tomorrow.  The doctor told me to use it on Colson, too.

Let's hope this is the end of our sickness for awhile!

I'm enjoying loving on my boys who aren't feeling well...but not enjoying the sickness part.
Just want to make them well!

A Few Miscellaneous Photos

Here are a few miscellaneous photos from this weekend...

Cannon loves to scoop out the ice cream by himself!  We are down to the last bit of leftovers from Colson's party.

Saturday, Cannon got soaked as he rode his bike through the water!  Boys...

Today, Colson made Mindy work hard to get good photos of him.  However, he sat perfectly still forever when he found a dirt pile afterward!  Figures!

Sebastian and Chris back from their fishing trip to Forks!

 Enjoying every moment.

Last Minute Trip to the Zoo

At 9:45 am I decided to take the kids to the zoo.  I hadn't showered...both boys were still in their jammies...the stroller wasn't in the car...lunches needed to be packed.

At 10:10 am, we were pulling out of the driveway.

We enjoyed a fabulous couple of hours traipsing all over the zoo, looking at as many animals as possible.

For Colson, this was the first trip to the zoo that he really understood what he was seeing and enjoyed looking at the animals.  He loved watching all of the people and seeing the many kids run and yell.  He also liked watching the monkeys, the sea lions, and the fish in the aquarium.  I loved watching him! He fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Cannon had fun running ahead of me and leading us to each animal habitat.  The elephants and tigers were some of Cannon's favorites, and of course, the monkeys.  Cannon also likes to watch the fish in the aquarium and always points out the boat at the bottom!

We ate lunch as were walked.  Both boys played on the toys and just had a wonderful time.

I'm so glad we went!

Enjoying every moment.

After School Play!

I love that today we ALL wanted to be outside when we got home.
It was Friday and it was a long, tiring week for me.
Cannon never even entered the house when we got home. He got on his bike and rode around the culd-a-sac.  I put Colson down in the grass and let him play.  I pulled weeds, watched the kids, took pictures and enjoyed the weather.  Cannon ended up changing into boots, shedding his shirts because he got them wet and putting on just a coat instead.  Colson got filthy, dirty hands, ate some dirt and picked up the weeds I pulled. It was wonderful to be outside!

We are looking forward to another day of sunny weather that will invite us outside again!

Enjoying every moment.

More Swimming

Cannon is taking another round of swimming lessons.  He has really improved from his first lessons in the summer.

He is swimming on his own with a kick board.
He is floating on his back with some assistance.
He is putting his face in the water and kicking.
He isn't afraid of the water.
He loves to go swimming!

We are excited to see his progress and love to watch him.

Colson likes to crawl up and down where we sit.  He visits everyone who is sitting on the first row of the bleachers!

Enjoying every moment.

Crazy Silliness

In our house there is a lot of silliness.  There are also many times when we are crazy!

Friday we witnessed some crazy silliness from Cannon!

The sun was shinning, but it wasn't all that warm out.  It had rained all week.  In fact, had been rainy and cloudy that all Friday morning.  The nights get close to freezing so it was probably only 50 degrees out, if that.  Long story short, Cannon ended up in the huge puddle on the property line between our house and Holly's.  It's mucky water but Cannon didn't care.

To be fair, Cannon did start off with rain boots on.  Then he took his boots off and rolled up his pants.  Finally, he took everything off except his underwear and ended up playing in the puddle almost naked.

I consider this silly.  I consider this crazy.

But before we insisted on him coming in to get warm, we encouraged him....we laughed with him...we took pictures.

Enjoying every moment!

First Birthday Party!

Yesterday we had everyone over to celebrate Colson's first birthday.

We had a houseful!
Everyone there to help wish Colson a happy, happy birthday and many more to come.
Everyone ate a lot!
Everyone talked and laughed a lot.
Everyone enjoyed the cake and ice cream.

And Colson put on a good show for us when he ate his cake!

I'm so thankful for the wonderful friends and family we have.  It's always great to see every body!

One Year Well Check

With a first birthday comes a visit to the doctor for a 12 month check up. Today, we headed to see Dr. Schoos so he could see how well Colson was growing.

Of course, Colson received a clean bill of health.

He weighs 20 pounds.
He is 29.5 inches long.

Colson is growing well.
Colson is eating a huge variety of foods.
Colson is close to walking.
Colson is sleeping fabulous at night and for naps.
Colson still only has two teeth, but the others are "right there" and will come through at any time.

We pretty much have Colson drinking from a sippy cup instead of a bottle, too.

Colson loves to look at books.
Colson knows exactly what we are saying to him.
Colson wants to do whatever Cannon is doing.
Colson loves to be outside!

Before we left, Colson received 4 shots....the not so fun part of the visit.
Of course, the only pictures I got were of his band aids and they aren't that great of pictures.
He had two on each leg, which he took off during bath time tonight!

Enjoying every moment.

Being Silly

Being silly is easy to do.
It happens a lot at our house.

Last night it was Cannon who I caught on camera.
Here are a few photos I was able to snap that actually weren't blurry!

We love being silly!
Enjoying every moment.

Weekend

Last weekend I said this, but it's worth repeating....
Thank goodness for weekends!

I felt good about what I accomplished.  I worked on report cards.  I did a bit of scrap booking.  I picked up and cleaned some.  I made a new soup recipe that acually turned out pretty good.  (Hooray for the crock pot.)  I went grocery shopping.  I did laundry.  The list goes on!

Cannon spent most of the weekend with Granny Joy.  He stayed at her place Friday and Saturday night.  They drove down to Portland Saturday morning to attend Cooper and Andee's birthday party.  Cannon had a great time playing with everyone.  He was well behaved, kind and polite.  And he was tuckered out!

Chris spent Saturday up with Sebastian at Lynnwood Harley Davidson, Sebastian's new store.  Chris went for a visit, to support Sebastian and to eat some good food!  However, he also came home with a bike.  That is all I will comment on the topic!  :)  Not very happy about that.

Sunday, Cannon, Joy and I went to see the play, Annie, which was presented by the Bonney Lake High School Drama Department.  Cannon's preschool teacher's daughter played Annie!  She did a fabulous job and the entire production was great.  Cannon enjoyed it for the most part.  It was a bit long for him.  I'm glad we went. It was a good experience for him.  He got to see Ms. Teresa a number of times and also a number of other teachers from school, too.

All three of the boys got haircuts this evening.  Colson was fabulous.  This was he second haircut but the first time Chris used the clippers.  Colson wasn't scared at all.  He sat very well and stayed mostly still.  He never tried to get up and move (thanks to a sucker!) but he moved his head a lot.

Waiting for the play to start.

The cast at the end of the play.

Colson getting his hair cut.

Enjoying every moment.

Sunny...for One Day

Thursday the blue skies and bright sun came out to play.  We haven't had a 60 degree day in a long while.  It was sure a nice treat to feel the warmth of the sun and not have to wear a coat!  As soon as we got home from school, we headed straight to the back yard for some much needed Vitamin D.

Colson enjoyed playing with the rocks!  He made piles on the deck, then threw them off one by one!
Cannon ran around the yard, kicked his soccer ball, road around on the little Radio Flyer and played on the big toy.  I had fun swinging with him, too!

Enjoying every moment.
