Addiction

I have a big addition to recording memories.
Yes, that is my addiction.

I spend countless hours each week journaling, taking photos, scrapbooking and now blogging to preserve the memories that our family makes.  I would sure get a lot more accomplished if I didn't have this addiction.  I'd read more books, the house would be cleaner, I'd keep up on more current shows, I'd probably work out more and maybe even figure out this whole coupon craze that is going on now.

But instead, I record memories.
I guess that's not so bad.

And a few photos from today...

Watching Cannon.

Swinging at the park.

We love when daddy comes home for lunch.

Too cute!

Calling daddy..."Where are you at?"

I love this kid!

"Back, back, back, back, back."
Enjoying every moment.

A Week in the Life

This is the week I am keeping track of even more details of our days than I normally do.  More photos, especially of the things I may not normally take photos of.  (our house, the car, my desk, me, piles of toys, laundry, things around the house, places we go, etc.)  Keeping more "things" such as receipts, a piece of mail, Cannon's hand prints, etc.  And more journaling.  This I think I do fairly well now, but I'll keep track of some of the normal things of our everyday lives like our specific routines, what we eat, what I buy, etc.

This is the second year I've "participated" in A Week in the Life.  I loved how it turned out last year and we've had fun looking back at the album.  This year I am better prepared because I know what to expect and I'm going to try to stay ahead of the game by writing and ordering photos on a daily basis instead of waiting to complete everything at the end of the week like I did last year.

Over the last two days I've taken a couple hundred photos.  I'll include only a few here!

Colson happy from a 12 hour sleep!

Cannon is such a cutie!

Cannon made his own waffle this morning.  Put the batter on
the waffle maker himself, put in the chocolate chips, etc!

Playing with trucks already!

Cannon was making quad sounds as he was pretending to ride!

Happy to be at Cannon's soccer practice.

Ready, go!

Cannon will be swimming by himself in no time!

Working on Cannon's quad.

Drawing before bed.
Enjoying every moment.

A Different Way Home

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The final verse of Robert Frost's famous poem.....

Today, we took a detour from our normal route home from the lake.  We traveled Hwy 2 and enjoyed the new scenery, the little towns, the fruit stand, Leavenworth, and Steven's Pass.

It was a great family day, especially the ice cream in Leavenworth!  Cannon and Colson also enjoyed the animals, toys and tractors at the fruit stand.

So....today, we "took the one less traveled by"...at least the road less traveled by us on a normal trip.
And I can tell you..."that has made all the difference"....because we just created more wonderful memories that we would not have if we'd taken our normal route home.

Enjoying every moment.
