Everything is Amazing to Colson

The life of a 2 year old....

Things are interesting.
Things are cool.
Things are funny.

To Chris and I, it's all special.  We love to watch Colson play, interact and talk because he enjoys everything.  (Well, almost everything.  He doesn't enjoy being told NOT to do something.)

It's a know fact that both of the boys run around
the neighborhood with little or no clothes.  Colson at least
has on a helmet and shoes!

Colson loves to cook and bake with me.  Here, he is making
 muffins in the morning.

Checking out all of the books at the library.

This is why I scrapbook.  Colson is examining every page
of our Project Life album from this year.  I love it!

Playing at the Park

Today we headed to Les Grove Park in Auburn for some playtime.  We haven't been to this park all year so it was fun for the boys to play on "new" toys.  There is also a small water park area and Cannon really enjoyed himself.  Colson loved it, too, but he mostly watched.

Off to the Races

Saturday we were able to head to the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.  We haven't been in over 10 years, so it was nice to head back to see what we had been missing.

The day was overcast but warm.  Perfect, actually, for being at the racetrack.  We enjoyed watching qualifying and seeing all of the cars we usually watch on TV.  There are no words that can explain the incredible noise and the feeling you get when the Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Cars go down the track.  It's something you just have to experience.  Those people that have been to the NHRA races know what I'm talking about!

We spent some time walking around the pits and saw many drivers.  I got pictures of Courtney Force, Antron Brown and Robert Height.  I got Brittney Force's autograph and we saw many of the other drivers out and about.  That's the one great thing about NHRA....is how they allow the fans to be right up close to their pits.

After the races, we took the back way towards home, stopped in Orting for dinner and finally made it back.
What a great, relaxing day out.  Thank you to Brenda and Joy for watching the boys for us!

Enjoying every moment!

Picking Blueberries

We eat blueberries like candy in our house.  So I was excited to hear about a park in Tacoma where we can go and pick blueberries for free!  It's called, Charlette's Blueberry Park and there are thousands of blueberry bushes. It was like a hide and seek area for Cannon and Colson!

We tromped through the bushes and found ripe blueberries on every bush.  Then we found an area that had a few bushes that were FULL of berries.  So we filled our two small Tupperware containers on those bushes.

The boys did well and picked blueberries for the first part of our visit.  Then Colson and Cannon got tired and played some hide and seek, took pictures and videos using my phone and ate some more blueberries!

We did some walking around the paved trail and the boys would have enjoyed having their bikes.  Next time. I did pack a lunch, but we ended up heading home instead....Colson was done and ready to go.

I think this will be a park we visit again!

Enjoying every moment.

Making Memories

These last few days have been filled with some fun, exciting memory making.

Waiting.

Waiting for the Tacoma Link on our way to the Children's museum.

Riding.
Riding on the Tacoma Link was a huge hit!

Painting.

Colson loved the art room on this trip to the museum.  He loved painting!

Creating.

Both Cannon and Colson enjoyed creating 3-D objects with pieces of colored foam and toothpicks.

Learning.
Cannon had a dentist appointment and Colson was doing a lot of observing and learning, hopefully making his next visit to the dentist easier.

Playing.
I enjoy watching and listening to the boys playing together.  I am seeing this more often.

Watching.
Colson likes to watch Cannon swim and wishes that he could be in the pool as well!

Anticipating.
Colson couldn't wait until the Sounder train came.  He shouted, "Train!" when he could see it.  We took the Sounder into Kent.

Exploring.
It didn't take long for the boys to get wet in the water.  We enjoyed some munchies and walked around Kent Station for awhile.

Enjoying.
The boys and I waiting for the train back to Sumner.

Smile

Life is so much better when you have a smile on your face!

Cannon's swimming made us smile today!  He had a private lesson and he was very nervous.  You could tell he wasn't sure about himself and his abilities.  But by the end of the lesson, he was swimming very well on his own and even tackled a fear of jumping in the deep end (into his teacher's hands).  He is still working on taking breaths while he is swimming and continuing to work on getting over his fear of not being able to touch....and what to do...SWIM!!  But there is progress and that makes us all smile.

Colson makes us smile often.  He is constantly talking and at times, showing his sense of humor.  We enjoy hearing all he has to say and love how much he can communicate.  We can tell that he really listens to everyone because of what he says later on.

Tonight, family time made me smile.  We headed out in the Chevelle to see some other hotrods in Puyallup. We had ice cream and walked around looking at old cars.  The boys loved the ice cream way more than the old cars!

Sitting on the back deck, relaxing in the shade and watching the boys made me smile.  Chris and I were talking about the day and the boys, Cannon and Colson were playing with chalk.  It was nice.

Working on scrapbooking and memory keeping makes me smile!  I am editing our 2012 Blog Book and I am loving re-reading all of the posts and seeing the photos that go along with the writing.  This is a great keepsake and so worth the time.

Enjoying every moment!
