New School Year
Here's to another school year!
We love these two boys so much! We are so excited for what lies ahead of them this year and also what they can offer to their friends and classroom. They are amazing friends, hard workers and great learners. So proud on this first day of school!

Portland Grand Prix
What a great weekend in Portland!
Chris and I had the opportunity to enjoy the Portland Grand Prix this Labor Day weekend, thanks to contacts through the Truss Company. This would be my first Indy Car race. We took advantage of this occasion and throughly enjoyed ever minute of this trip!
We left Friday afternoon on the motorcycle and took backroads to the coast. We had lunch in Montesano at a small restaurant and then headed south, across the Astoria bridge to Seaside. From Seaside, we headed back inland towards Portland, arriving at the hotel about 6:30.
The hotel was beautiful and we felt spoiled. It's not often we stay in fancy hotels and this one was definitely fancy. We walked around Portland a bit that evening and found a MOD Pizza for dinner. We shared a yummy pizza and people watched.
Saturday and Sunday, we spent at PIR watching road racing. We were taken care of in the Graham/Letterman/Lanigan suite just above pit road and the front stretch. We were fed both days, given programs, hats, an autograph picture of Graham Rahal, and also had a nice tour. Chris and I spent time walking around the track, taking in views from all of the turns. During the main race on Sunday, Graham Rahal was involved in a first lap wreck, just the victim of circumstance. His teammate, Takuma Sato ending up winning the race! The highs and the lows of racing!
We were able to take in some of downtown Portland on Saturday night. We walked the waterfront, found a place to have dinner, shopped a little bit and walked some more. By the end of Saturday, we had close to 25,000 steps! Our legs were tired!
We left Sunday late afternoon and had a great ride back, taking many roads that were new to us. We never touched I-5. On a motorcycle, back roads are much better!
It was a wonderful couple of days. Can't wait to do it again.

Building the Shop
August 2018
We have finally broke ground on the shop. We started in July and have continued to make progress through the summer months. It's a slow process because we...well, Chris really...is doing it all himself, with the help of a couple of buddies.
We are happy to see a building going up and it's a little hard to believe! Our hope is to get in before Christmas. (That may be wishful thinking!) There is still a ton of work to be done. In order to make that happen, we will have to have many things fall into place. We shall see!

An August wedding for our extended family! Lisa was married on August 11th at Duncan Gardens. It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous setting for a wedding!
It was great seeing family, catching up and celebrating a wonderful occasion!

Bremerton: Here We Come!
July 2018
We took advantage of a nice, warm July day and headed to Bremerton. We took the Link in to Seattle and then walked down to the waterfront. The ferry ride to Bremerton is beautiful and one I love. We then ate lunch at the spray park and hung out there for a bit before heading to get ice cream at Cold Stone. Then, we made it back to the ferry for our ride to Seattle.
It was a great day and a wonderful way to beat the heat....being on the water!

Concrete....Finally
July 2018
It's been a long time coming. We've owned the property for about 3 years and we are finally getting started on building the shop. The concrete was poured and we can see progress! It took 4 truckloads of concrete and it was amazing to watch.

Seattle and Seattle Storm!
The boys each received two free tickets to a Seattle Storm basketball game for participating in the summer reading program at the public library. Karin and I took the boys up to Seattle on the Link and then rode the Monorail to the Seattle Center and walked to to Key Arena. It was a great trip, a beautiful day and really fun time! We all had ice cream, enjoyed the fountain and cheered on the Storm to a win!

Circus
The circus came to town! No animals anymore at the circus, but just amazing acts. We had so much fun and it was something the boys had never seen before.
