Camping.
Friends.
Getting away.
We left Wednesday, early afternoon, for Mayfield Lake. We were packed and ready to, "Get outta dodge!"
Some of the highlights:
The jet boat was finally running well. That was AFTER a couple of test runs where one ended up with Chris and Ricky rowing back! Long story short, when you have things hooked up correctly, things tend to run better! Chris had the boat out every day, gave a few rides and enjoyed the boat, which is exactly what is supposed to happen!
The boys did a lot of playing, hanging out, watching, observing, walking, bike riding, etc. Colson is enjoying drawing and coloring lately. Do we have a lefty in the family?
We enjoyed some time on the water, soaking up the sun, but also searching for shade as the afternoons were hot! The water was COLD but Cannon waded to shore a number of times and also liked playing in the tube brought down by the neighbors. Colson put his feet in the water, watched and munched!
A few of us went to buy blueberries and also spent some time walking through a nursery and adjoining gardens. Relaxing and beautiful.
I was able to read some and finished my book. It was good...the first in a series and I'm wanting to read the rest!
The fireworks were great...just a bunch set off by varying neighbors but everyone came down to the field across the way and we were able to watch right from our camp chairs. Cannon enjoyed it, excepting for being scared about a M-100 that was going to be set off later on. Colson slept through the whole thing!
Enjoying every moment.
