Colson Time

I have been blessed with a lot of one-on-one Colson time since Cannon is still in Spokane.  This is time that a second child doesn't normally receive.  So I have been savoring it!

  • It's been fun to really get down on the floor and play with just Colson.  We've played with trucks and trailers, stacked blocks and knocked them down, put together train tracks and played with trains, played with play dough, etc.
  • I've loved sitting back and watching Colson play by himself.
  • I'm enjoying the conversations the two of us are having.  He talks up a storm and is very persistent when he wants me to do something.  "Go. Go. Down. Go."  As he is pointing.
  • We are loving sitting down to breakfast...just the two of us.
  • I've read the John Deer Tractor book and Red Truck what seems like a million times in the last few days!  These are Colson's favorites.
  • We've cooked together and done laundry together.
  • I find myself laughing at Colson's silly faces and the many crazy things he does.
  • We've done a lot of chasing after each other.
  • I've cleaned up numerous messes that Colson has made.  It's amazing how fast a room goes from clean to a disaster!  Wow!
  • Colson loves to hide and have me find him.
  • I am trying take in every little detail.

Enjoying every moment.

Adventures with Auntie

Cannon has been enjoying his extended stay in Spokane with Auntie Karin!

They've been keeping each other company and most importantly, making a lot of wonderful memories along the way!

Karin sent me some photos from the first couple of days. (Thank you!)

The first day they went downtown to take in the sights, watch the ice skaters, eat treats and ride the gondola and carousel.

The next day they went to the science museum with Auntie Kanga.  The museum is newly remodeled with many amazing exhibits.  Both Karin and Cannon shared a lot of favorites:  building bridges, static electricity, brain waves, etc.  I could tell they had a great time!

Today was a rest day and both Karin and Cannon stayed in their jammies most of the day...until they ventured out to Toys R Us for a garbage truck that Cannon has been searching for.  Of course they found one and now Cannon is a happy camper!  They also created some things with clay, watched it snow and took Hunter for a walk!

Tomorrow they will meet Travis and Teresa, Todd and Sarah with the girls, Mom and Dad, and Vicki for some ice skating!  Cannon is very excited to go ice skating.  I don't think he understands how difficult it is going to be!  I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

Thank you Karin for making Cannon happy and creating all of these amazing memories for him!

Enjoying every moment.

Sledding

Cannon and I headed out to play in the snow and try a bit of sledding.  Cannon tried a few small, steep hills but was "cautious" and worried about going too fast or going to far and sliding right over the next edge!  He didn't, of course, and had a good time.  We also walked down the road some taking turns pulling the sled.  I pulled him for awhile, too.  He seemed happy to do it all!  When we got back, Colson was awake and we played some more in the back yard.  Cannon loved pulling Colson around on the sled.  Colson wasn't too sure at first, but seemed to enjoy it after he figured out what was going on!

I love making memories with these two boys!

Enjoying every moment!

More Miscellaneous Holiday Photos

I was able to catch up today on some scrapbooking and sorted through digital photos.  So here are some more photos from our trip east of the mountains for the Christmas holiday.

Christmas Day

I still get excited about Christmas morning!

This year, Colson was the first one up, calling for everyone in the house...."Mom. Dad. Papa. Auntie. Cannon. Grandma."

Cannon was the last one up and would have stayed asleep longer if Chris hadn't let Colson go wake him up.

Both boys loved the truck and trailers that Santa left them. They could have received nothing else and would have been happy campers!

We enjoyed an early dinner at Kay and Karen's house and then we headed for home since Chris had to work the following day.  Cannon stayed and will spend an extra few days with Auntie Karin.  The roads back were icy and covered in snow most of the way.  It made for a tense drive back for Chris.

Here are some photos from Christmas Day:

Christmas Eve

Love the time at the lake even though it always goes too fast.

This year, we had four fabulous days and really relaxed and did a lot of nothing.  I started and finished a book for pleasure and I didn't do any school work!  The kids played inside and outside, enjoyed making cookies, watching Charlie Brown's Christmas and being with everyone.

Here are a few photos from Christmas Eve.

30 degrees out but they still love to play at the beach...
