And it is a BIG one...
Cannon finally rode his 2 wheel bike by himself!
We are all so very proud of him and more importantly, we are proud of how hard he tried, even when it was hard and he was frustrated.
Cannon has tried off and on for about a year to ride without training wheels, but lacked confidence and was quickly frustrated. We tried to practice as often as we could and we could tell he was getting better and learning balance, which was the key.
Over the last few days, Cannon was gaining confidence and we were 'helping' less. However Cannon still didn't believe in himself. Finally, after a melt down, a conversation about trying, a lecture about NOT saying "I can't" and a good night sleep, Cannon put everything together and rode by himself!
The smile on his face was priceless. He said, "I did it! I rode all by myself!" Now he's asking to go for bike rides on the Orting trail!
This was a special day!
