Summer Life

Summer time is a radical change in our lives as I am home with the boys all summer long.
It's a change I look forward to.
It's a change the boys love.
It's a change that we are lucky to have.

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks of summer:

Summer means time to visit friends.  We enjoyed time with Heather and her boys a couple of times so far.  The boys loved playing in the water, driving the battery powered cars, laughing and doing what kids do...have fun!

Summer means listening to music and rocking out!  Both Cannon and Colson enjoy listening to our ipods and finding songs like, Thunderstruck, and Staying Alive.  I love Colson's face here!

Summer means hours of Lego time.  There are usually Legos strewn out all over the bonus room. The boys love making trucks and cars and trailers to pull.  We've recently got a 10 drawer cart (that the boys put together on their own) to sort the Legos.

Summer means organizing for me.  I've tackled the boys clothes, a couple of cabinets, toys and am working on my desk area.  It's a mess!

Summer means time to read!  I found a book the boys haven't seen in awhile and they had fun reading through it.  It's one that has a mouse that you put through the holes in each page, so it was a hit for quite a while!

Summer means free bowling for the kids!  This year, both Cannon and Colson are old enough to enjoy playing and really understanding what to do.  It was fun to watch them bowl!

Summer means going to the library...and playing with the toys there!  Cannon found another Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to read and Colson found a silly book for me to read.  I picked out a bunch more read-alouds and also a book for myself.

Summer means smoothies with fresh berries.  We had raspberries, blueberries and strawberries.  So very good!

Summer means making fun treats out of the blue.  We made rolls to go with our dinner and used a few to rolls out for cinnamon and sugar treats for after dinner.

Summer means swimming and laying out on towels to get dry.  They would get dry (kind of) and then get back int he pool.  Then repeat.

Summer means lots of love for DC since we are home during the day.  He loves to lay with us and will find the room we are in to hang out.  Often, DC will go in the boys rooms in the morning and curl up on one of their beds, staying their until they wake up.

Enjoying every moment.
