It's Race Time

I think it's been at least 10 years (maybe longer) since we have been to Evergreen Speedway.  Sebastian invited us up to the Emerald City Harley Davidson Night.  They sponsored the main event for the featured class...88 Minutes of Fear.  The Super Figure Eights raced for 88 minutes!  They ran 239 laps!  So crazy.

Cannon sitting all by himself in the stands!

We arrived when the stands were empty and the kids had fun running around everywhere.  Colson did take a nap, even as the cars were practicing.  The roar of the engines must lull him to sleep!  Both of the boys loved watching the races.  Their favorite car was one that was painted up like Lightening McQueen (of course!)  Before the main events the race cars pull up onto the front stretch and let the fans come down for a meet and greet.  What a nice way to get everyone involved and it was so much fun for all of the kids.

Once the racing started we stayed up in the VIP boxes and probably had the best seats in the house!  Along with the huge spread of food!  We felt very lucky!

We headed back to the motor home before the final race to get the boys ready for bed.  They watched the first part of the race from the drivers seat in the motor home and then both went to bed.  Again, the noise didn't bother them.  Chris and I watched the rest of the race from the comfort of the motor home!

Cannon watching the races....laying on the dash of the motor home.

Good view, except for the signs on the fence.  We could see over them, however!

We were the only two motor homes there and I think the only people who stayed the night.  We got up in the morning and let ourselves out of the gate!  After a yummy breakfast, we headed home.  Such a wonderful evening full of great fun and lots of memories!

Thanks Sebastian!

Enjoying every moment!
