Zoo

We hit the Point Defiance Zoo today with Heather, Evan and the three kids she is watching.  The day was overcast and at times there was mist coming down, but we stuck it out and all had a good time.  It was nice to get out of the house, do something different, see lots of animals and visit with Heather.

Some things I want to remember:

Cannon and Autumn took to each other and hung out together most of the day.  When it was time to go, they gave each other a big hug!

Cannon fell on the way into the zoo and scraped up one knee pretty good.  He got blood all over his shorts but refused to put a band aide on it.  He then fell two more times.  Yes, there were some tears but he never complained the entire time about his knee hurting!

Colson watching the animals.  He loved the monkeys!

Cannon had swimming this evening and he didn't want to go...I had to wake him up from his nap which he doesn't like. But by the time we got to the pool and in the water, he was happy and did great!  Tonight he learned to float on his back.  He also jumped off the side and put his head under water.

And here is a picture that I love...

This is what it is all about.  There are lots of things in life that we get to "DO" that are wonderful, but it's the time together that I cherish.
Chris and Cannon were looking out the window together and just talking....talking about the motor home; talking about moving the dinghy and jet boat; talking about the rabbit that was in the neighbors yard.  After I took this picture, they read together (after Cannon got his jammies on!) and I could hear Chris reading from, Where The Sidewalk Ends.  These moments are what fill my heart with joy!

Both boys are sound asleep.  Chris went to rescue the neighbor...her car broke down.  I love that about him.  He is always doing good deeds!  Now off to fold and put away laundry and read.  I'm still trying to finish my book!

Enjoying every moment.
